Vernal Natural History Museum

On the Friday after Thanksgiving we drove to Vernal and took the kids to the Natural History Museum. This is the second dinosaur museum that we have been to in the last month. It was a really nice and interactive museum for such a small town. Sage got to dig for dinosaur bones and piece together some bones. They had huge models and Sage thought that they were pretty great.

Thanksgiving Dinner

We had a good Thanksgiving dinner with Jason's family. It was a small party, only 6 adults and two kids but we still had all the fixins and a good time.

Thanksgiving Football Game

We spent Thanksgiving up in Roosevelt with Jason's parents. They have a tradition of playing a football game in the back yard. It was a little different this year since there were only four adults playing and two little girls running around. Sage was a great asset to the team. She mostly stole the ball and then ran away with it so the game couldn't be played. During the huddle she would tell the guys "Okay you guys start it and I'll finish it." Jason played half the game carrying Hallie in his arms because she wanted to play. we were worried about whiplash because her poor little head was bobbing around so violently as he ran.

Eli Whitney Museum

We took these pictures outside the Eli Whitney Museum. We took the kids to make little homemade toys. Sage and Aidan made little mice and Carter made an electric car. Hallie just colored all over herself with permenent marker. When they were done we went on a nice fall walk around the museum.

Fall Picnic

We took the kids on a Fall picnic at a park near Alicia's house. There were leaves piled up everywhere and the kids had a great time piling them up and jumping in them. It was a great picnic, really, really cold, but fun.

Acton Children's Museum

We took Hallie and Sage to the Acton Children's Museum. They had fun playing on a small train, a boat, and in a play kitchen.

Nice Lobster

A waiter at the restaurant pulled a lobster out of the tank for the kids to see. Hallie loved him and spent about 10 minutes petting his claws and trying to poke it in the eye.

Lobster Dinner

Jason wanted seafood so Aunt Kristie took us to a really fun restaurant outside of Boston. Jason ate clams, clam chowder, and a 2 lb. lobster. He was a little afraid to eat a whole lobster but Lacey and Nick showed him how. He later threw it all up during the night. There goes $75 down the toilet, literally.

American Museum of Natural History

We took the kids to the Natural History Museum. Sage really wanted to see the butterfly exhibit there. She was a little mad though, because a butterfly didn't land on her finger. We saw all kinds of stuffed animals and lots of rocks. Really exciting!

Hallie in NYC

This is a picture of Hallie outside a McDonalds in NYC. We take our kids all around the world and all they want is chicken nuggets.

Run, David, Run!

These are some pictures of David Danley running in the Olympic Marathon Trials. He came in 80th place. We are all just glad that he finished and didn't die like one athlete.

New York City

We have been staying in New York City with Ashley and Bryan for the weekend. It has been a lot of fun, except Sage has had the croup and has been wheezing and coughing constantly. We came to watch Jason's brother David run in the Olympic Trials for the marathon. We went with Clay to FAO Schwartz. Sage danced on the giant piano there and both the kids got to pick a toy. On Saturday we got up early to go to the race. Clay went with us. It was so cold and windy and Hallie's little hands were ice cubes by the time the race was over. David did okay in the race, at least he finished. We went to the temple and then out to lunch with all the Danleys. We went back to Ashleys and then met his family for Sushi that night. The Melgars and Clay came with us. On Sunday we went to Church with Ash and then we went to lunch with the Danleys at a place called The Dinosaur. I then left Jason with the kids and went down to 34th street for some alone time shopping. Ash made us dinner that night which was really yummy. We stayed up late playing demon and watching the Sound of Music. On Monday morning we went to the American Museum of Natural History. They had a butterfly exhibit going on and Sage was mad because a butterfly didn't land on her finger like she wanted it to. David came with us and we were all worn out by the time we left the museum. We met Ash and Clay for lunch at Uno's and then we went back to Ashleys to get ready to go. We drove out to Alicia's that night.

This is Halloween, This is Halloween

We had a great Halloween. Sage was "a mean old witch with a hat', at least that is what she told everyone when they asked her. Hallie was a butterfly. The only way we could get a picture of her was for Jason to hang her by her arms so she would hold still. The wings were a little heavy and by the end of the night she had a big red mark around her neck from the ribbons holding them on. We went to our ward trunk or treat, which was fine. Then we took the kids over to Jeff and Kim's neighborhood for some door to door action. As soon as Hallie saw the people bring out the bowl of candy she would wriggle down from my arms and go grab a handful. We went to the party of a lady in our ward and ate pizza and soup. It was a good Halloween.

Princess Shoes

For Sage's birthday Pop Pop sent her 6 pairs of princess shoes. Since Hallie has a shoe obsession it was the perfect gift for our house. She always had a pair of high heels on now. The only bad thing is there is a lot of falling down going on at our house.

Sage's Birthday Pumpkin Pickin'

For Sage's birthday we drove up to Logan and stayed overnight with Lindy and Kurt. On Saturday morning we woke up to falling snow. We didn't let it put a damper on our pumpkin picking though. We went to the Paradise Pumpkin patch and picked out some good ones. I think that the kids had more fun eating the snow off of their gloves than looking at the pumpkins.
