For Pop Pop

Dad,
Here are a few pictures of the kids for you. The cousins have all been having a fun time together, although there are quite a few fights mixed in with the fun.

Celebration!

On July 5th we went up to Logan to spend some time with Jason's family. There is a big antique car show up there over the 4th of July weekend which we attended on Saturday. We went to the Logan fair grounds and walked around looking at a bunch of old cars. It was so hot that we didn't stay long but I think that Jason really enjoyed seeing the cars. It made us want to go get Dad's old truck and have it restored.
After the car show we went and checked into our hotel. I was so excited because right across the street from our hotel was my favorite Kohls. So of course we had to stop in and do a little shopping.
We had dinner at Lindy's house. A nice hot dog BBQ.
After dinner we took the kids to this place in Logan called "Celebration Center". It has a few small rides for the kids and a couple really scary rides for adults. Jason took Sage on the go carts and she was pretty proud of herself driving around with the big kids. She got off the cart screaming "We won, We won", even though they didn't. Matt and his friend Josh went on this one ride that lifts you up in a glass cylinder 350' in the air and then drops you straight down. It looked pretty scary. I went on one ride that was a giant swing and was yelling at Jason the entire time for making me go on it.



We went back to Lindy's house and Kurt made a fire and we roasted marshmallows. Yummy!
On Sunday Kurt and Lindy blessed their new baby James in church. James looked so cute in Kurt's old blessing outfit.



We had a nice dinner at Lindy's house afterward. Sage and Hallie had a great time playing with all of Will's other cousins.


We left about 5:00, but not before Jason and I got our picture together. It was out 7 year anniversary after all.

It has been such a fun week with a lot more summer fun to follow so we will keep you posted.

Happy 4th!

For the 4th of July this year we had a really great day doing nothing. We ran to the store to buy fireworks and then just hung around the house. Jason took Sage fishing in the afternoon. She came home in just her underwear since she had fallen in the river about 5 times. We had a BBQ for dinner with lots of yummy things. At 8:00 we went over to Paul and Angela's house for some Fourth of July fun. We made dutch oven cobbler and let the kids run around the yard until it got dark. We did a bunch of fireworks in the street and the kids ran around with sparklers. Hallie was quite intimidated by the sparklers but we finally go her to hold one. We watched the big fireworks display that was going on in Midway from the Ritchie's front yard. Then we ate the yummy peach cobbler, apple crisp, and homemade ice cream. We finally left at 11:00 pm. The kids were so tired and dirty but they had a great time playing with their friends and enjoying the fireworks.

Scout Camp #5

Jason just recently went on his 5th week-long scout camp. This year he organized camp for his troop as well as two other Heber troops. They went to the campgrounds at Six Lakes. They seemed to have a fun time making bottle rockets and competing in gross eating contests. They made the boys eat boiled cow blood, dog food, ostrich eggs, and pigs feet. They only had one boy throw it back up. Jason said they had a fun week but he came home very very tired, stinky, and with a beard.

Lagoon

On Monday we had Jason's annual office party at Lagoon. We look forward to this every year, especially since we don't have to pay the entrance fees. Sage and Hallie love it so much and we always have a great time. This year our friends the Chappells came with us to McGoon (as Sage calls it). It was fun to have them along so that I had someone to talk to as I sat with the little kids on the kiddie rides.


The kids had such a great time on all the kiddie rides. Hallie screamed on every single ride that we put her on, but as soon as the ride got going she was all smiles. All the people there were starring at me because I wasn't helping her as she was bawling and reaching for me, but I knew she would love it once it got going and she did. She especially loved the little airplanes and the little boats (which are no longer white.)

Sage is so brave and loves to go on the bigger kid rides. Here is Jason and Sage on that little ride that shoots you up and drops you down.



It was so hot on Monday about 100 degrees. The pictures below are of our whole group waiting in line for the new Octupus ride. It was a good one to cool us off and we all came off quite wet.


We ended the day at about 10:30 pm but not before we got a ride on the carousel.
