At Ruthie's House

We spent a night at Grandma's house over the weekend while Jason was away. I always love being at Grandma's and being around the family. I made dinner for Kathie's family, Ty's Family and Clay and his fiance. The kids had a great time running around the backyard. They were pretending that rocks were bird eggs and making nests for them. Here are some photos of the kids.

Montana Fishing

Jason just got back from 5 days fishing in Montana. He went with his brothers and Father, and despite some bad weather it sounds like they had a great time. If you want the details then talk to Jason.

At the Zoo

We went to the Zoo on Monday. It was such a perfect day. It was 75 degrees out and we had all the time that we wanted. We didn't feel rushed and we were able spend a lot of time watching the animals. Both the girls were really excited to see all the animals. Every time we would walk up to a new animal cage Hallie would point to the animal and say "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, Mommy" until I acknowledged that yes I did see the animal.

We went on the little train that they have at Hogle Zoo. This is Hallie's "choo choo" face. She kept saying choo choo the entire ride.

Here is Sage outside the elusive White crocodile's cage. Unfortunately a lot of the animals were taking their midday siestas. Sage kept asking "Mom is that animal real or pretend?" because they were all just sitting there. I think she was confused and couldn't quite figure out if we were at the Zoo or the Natural History Museum. She kept calling it an animal museum.


When we were looking at the Chimps Sage had her face pressed up against the glass of the cage. The baby chimp was swinging on a vine for some of the time that we were watching it and all of a sudden he swung over to the glass where Sage was standing and planted a kiss on the glass, right where Sage's face was. This freaked Sage out and she was not very happy for a while after that. Overall we had a great time and I have had so much fun with my girls this weekend while Jason was out of town.

Soccer Star!

Sage had her first soccer game on Saturday. She was so excited! She kept telling us how she was going to show everyone her "moves", whatever those are. There are 6 kids on her team and they play 3 on 3.

This is one of the only times that she got near the ball. I think that she kicked the ball about 2 times the entire game. The rest of the time she stood next to her coach or just watched the other kids running around the field.

Sage got to throw the ball into the game once. She couldn't quite figure out what she was supposed to do and spent a few minutes walking around the field holding the ball and trying to figure out where she was supposed to throw it.

Sage gave us a big thumbs up in the middle of the game.

After half time the rest of the game went about like this. Sage kept running off of the field and taking a rest about every other minute. Or she would stand on the field making weird gestures with her hands. She wasn't interested in what the other kids were doing and not remotely interested in kicking or chasing the ball. She was happier to just be standing next to her coach and watching, even though she was supposed to be playing. Even with Sage's excellent help her team still won the game.

Framing

The house is coming along great. They are going to be finished framing in a few days and then they will start putting up the roof. It is exciting to see the house take shape and get a feel for the size of the rooms.

Tired Hallie

You can always tell when Hallie is starting to get tired. She will put her hands behind her head and before you know it she is sound asleep. When she is in her carseat she always falls asleep this way. I think it is so cute, she looks like she is just sitting back and lounging.

The Great Block Castle

I came home from work the other night and Sage came running to the door to meet me. She was so excited. She wanted to show me the block castle that she had made all by herself with stairs up to the top. It was so cute how excited and proud she was. She is really into blocks right now and she will sit and build for hours a day. I think it's great if it keeps her from wanting to watch tv all the time.

Happy 32!

These are all of the people who came out to dinner with us to celebrate Jason's birthday. On the men's side: Daniel, Scott, Jon, Jason, and Jeff. On the women's side: Kimberly, Audrey, Jessica, and Kim Danley.



Jason has now turned 32 years old. We had a fun weekend celebrating. On Friday night Jason's Mom watched our kids and we went down to Salt Lake City. We went out to dinner to Jason's favorite Japanese restaurant, Kyoto. We had a great time. We invited some of Jason's oldest friends to come with us as well as Jeff and Kim Danley. That night Jason and I stayed over in Salt Lake so that we could spend the next day shopping for some things for our house. It was great. It was the first time in a long time that I have actually slept through the night without getting up to help one of the kids.
On Saturday, Jason's birthday, we just ran some errands around Salt Lake. Then in the afternoon we headed back up to Heber. We had all of Jason's family over for dinner and some birthday pie that night. I think that Jason had a pretty fun birthday.

Sad Bunny.

Have you ever seen such a sad little face? Sage went to the birthday party of her friend Mckay on Thursday. They had a clown who made balloon animals and painted faces. Sage choose a bunny. She looked so darling and was so proud of the painting the clown hand done. However, attending the party caused her to miss her regular nap and so by the time we got home the water works had begun. I had to hurry and get a picture of her face before the paint was smeared all over her.

Hallie

These pictures of Hallie are so funny to me. They just don't look quite like her. Maybe that is because her face and hands are clean and her hair is not hanging over her eyes.
