Sage Smiles

Whenever I want to take pictures of the kids this is what I automatically get out of Sage. Very rarely do I get an actual smile. She is such a goof-ball.

Hallie Fashion

Hallie is quite the stylin' little two year old. I just loved this whole ensemble; the boots, monkey backpack, diaper, and tube of toothpaste.

Father's Day Weekend

Well, It is taking me a little time to get to the posting of Father's Day weekend. It was quite the eventful weekend and we had a great time together as a family. My sister Zahra came into town on Thursday and we all went down to Bountiful to spend the weekend. Jason came up on Friday night to spend the weekend with us as well.
On Thursday night we went out to dinner at the Spaghetti Factory with all the cousins. It is always a favorite to get together and eat mizithra.
On Friday Zahra and I were busy making a bike cake for her friend's wedding. It turned out really cute, Zahra is an amazing cake decorater. Friday evening the kids, Kathie and I went to an antique car show that was in downtown Bountiful. I'm not really into old cars but it was something to do. Kathie bought the kids a snow cone which was the highlight of the evening. Jason met us back at Grandma's house with pizza at about 7:30. We had a nice dinner with Kathie and Grandma then we were off to the hotel. The kids were dying to go swimming so we took them down to the pool for a while.
On Saturday Zahra was busy with wedding stuff so we just hung out with our own little family. Saturday night we let McKinley babysit all the kids and we went out to dinner with Clay, Aria, Kathie, Tyler and Naava. It was so much fun to be with them without be interrupted by little kids. Jason and Tyler went and say Iron Man after dinner and Naava, Kathie and I went back up to her house to hang out. It ended up being quite a late night and the kids were exhausted.
Sunday was father's day and we all slept in which was fabulous. We went to church with Zahra in the morning to Mom's old church. After church we went on a picnic up Muller Canyon.The Kids had a great time hiking around with their dad and eating giant rice crispie treats.








It was a hot day and by the time we got finished we were all lagging quite a bit. The kids went right home and had naps and Zahra and I baked strawberry pies for dinner. We had dinner at Kathie's house with all of her family.
We had a nice BBQ dinner at Kathie's followed by some yummy strawberry pie. The dinner was in honor of the two dads present, Jason and Tyler. So of course we had to have steak.



After dinner Jason headed back up to Heber. The rest of us stayed and played some fun games. We played the family favorite "In the Manner of the Adverb" which produced some award winning performaces from Clayton and Zahra.

On Monday we took Zahra to the airport for her flight home. The kids were sad that Zuggi (as Hallie calls her) had to leave. Hallie is still asking me where Zuggi is.

Beauty Queens

Sage and her best friend Madison were playinng with makeup today at our house. They were being princesses and getting ready for the ball. They were pretty proud of the makeup job they did.

Ritchie's Surprise Party

We threw a surprise going away party for our friends Ryan and Jessica Ritchie on Monday. They are moving to Salt Lake and we are so so sad!The party was fun though, we had about 15 families from the ward come to the party which we held it in Angela's backyard. Ryan and Jessica were really surprised, which is always fun. Anyway, here are a few pics from the party.

Hallie's Happy Birthday.

I can't believe it but our little Hallie turned two on Saturday. She is getting so old. She was pretty excited that it was her birthday. Here is a run down of her special day. Sage woke her up on Saturday singing "Happy Birthday" to her. She had a huge grin on her face as Sage sung. Saturday morning Uncle Jeff and Aunt Kim took Sage and Hallie over to the park for a while. They had a great time but Hallie insists on dumping sand over her head so she needed another bath. I got her hosed off and then Hallie, Sage and Gavin spent about an hour running through the sprinklers in the yard while I mowed the lawn. During this time I had brownies cooking in the oven and looked up at the house only to see smoke billowing out the windows and doors. Apparently the brownie batter had dripped over the edge of the pan and was burning in the stove. So those brownies were ruined and the house was smoke filled. I opened all the windows and doors then went and got the kids dried off and down for naps about 2:00. Then I was off running getting ready for Hallie's Birthday BBQ that we had last night. I had to make a new double batch of brownies to replace the burnt ones and makes some other yummy stuff. When the kids woke up I let them lick the beaters from the brownie mix. It was a good thing that Jason wasn't home to see this, he would have dropped over dead to see that kind of mess.




Jason came home about 4:00 and helped me clean up the house and get ready for the BBQ. I decided to throw a BBQ for Hallie's birthday because her favorite thing in the world is to jump on the trampoline and run around with the bigger kids. So she had a really great time. Our friends came over at 6:30 and we had a fun BBQ in honor of Hallie's second birthday.


I made all of Hallie's favorites: hot dogs, hamburgers, macaroni and cheese, watermelon, and guacamole. Our friends brought some other yummy stuff to add to a great dinner. For dessert we had brownie sundaes with caramel, hot fudge, strawberries, bananas, and oreo cookies on it. We put two candles into a piece of brownie for Hallie and sung to her. She did a great job blowing out the candles and got them out on her first try.


Hallie thought the sundaes were fabulous and managed to finish her whole brownie. She was quite pleased by all the attention and just sat in her high chair like the little princess that she is.




After dessert Hallie opened her presents.

Each of our friends brought a little something for her. All of the kids were pretty excited to see what she got, I think that Sage was most excited since she took over most of the gifts as soon as everyone left. Hallie got a Dora sprinkler system, a dora purse and stickers, two cute shirts, a baby doll and stroller, and a giant coloring book.
Our friends went home at 9:00 and Kim D. and I cleaned up for a while. Sage and Hallie colored a page out of her giant coloring book before they went to bed. I think that Hallie had a great day.
