We planted way too many zucchini plants this year! We haven't been able to keep up with the harvest and we are always going out to find giant zucchini hiding. You know your zucchini is way past due to be picked when it is as big as your baby. If only Sage loved eating Zucchini as much as she loved snuggling it! Oh, well it all makes good zucchini bread. YUM!
Sage and Hallie with their sign to cheer Jason on.
Here comes Jason running up our road.
All Spring Jason trained to run a relay race with a bunch of his family. It is a race that starts in Logan and then goes all the way to Heber and back into Park City for a total mileage of something like 160 miles. The team is made up of 12 people and they each run three legs of the race with varying mileage. Jason trained and did a really good job! He has never been one to be happy to stay up for extended periods of time but he did great, even running in the middle of the night. We didn't get to watch too much of the race due to Hallie having the stomach flu but we got lucky and Jason had the segment of the race that ran right down our road. The kids made him a sign and were so excited to see him run by. Sage said, "We should put Good Luck on the sign because Dad's going to need it." Sage got to run across the finish line with Jason and she thought that was pretty neat. Jason did sleep almost the entire next day but I think he and his team had a great time!
These are some old photos from the summer. I am trying to get a little caught up on what we have been doing for the past few months. '
Sage and Hallie played T-ball this summer. One of our friends started her own little league and it was so much fun. Our girls were on the Bad News Bears team and they had darling little brown jerseys. Sage was quite good and usually got to play first base. She got quite a few players out. Hallie on the other hand was happy to just sit in the outfield and dig in the sand. Or run around the bases and shake off the dirt from the base before she would stand on it.
They were both pretty good at hitting and running the bases. It was a really fun thing to do this summer.
September is such a fun time of year. Fall is coming on, the garden is ready to harvest, and the kids are back in school! Sage went back to school the end of August. She is in First grade this year and is making the difficult transition to full day school. She comes home exhausted everyday! She was so excited and nervous on the first day. I was able to take her to school and her little hand was practically trembling in mine, but of course the second she walked in her class room she forgot all about me and was busy looking at things and talking to friends. She has a great teacher this year and we are looking forward to all the fun she is going to have.
Hallie started her second year of preschool and also has a really fun teacher, Ms. Karen. She is in a cute little class with 4 other girls and 5 boys. Hallie is sure she is a pretty big girl now that she gets to go to school three times a week.
I'm not sure why my girls think that back to school photos always have to involve "thumbs up" but somehow we always end up with some.
I have finally broken down. after months of whining about nobody knowing what Bryn looks like anymore, and added a couple of photos of Bryn. These are still a month or so out of date but something is better than nothing I think. She is just a little blue-eyed, bald-headed little darling and we are all having so much fun with her.
Bryn is three months old! It is so crazy. It feels like she has been with us forever and yet she is so brand new. She has become so much happier and is so smiley. She loves to face outward when I hold her so she can look at everything and just smile, smile, smile. In the mornings I lay her on our bed and she watches the ceiling fan go around and she will lay there and just grin and coo like it is the funniest thing on earth. She also loves to chew on her hands right now. She can fit her entire fist into her mouth. Bryn is just so much fun and we are enjoying her so much.
The girls wore their Easter dresses the week before Easter this year because of General Conference. They were pretty casual dresses but super cute. Bryn looked so cute in her little cardigan and headband. I can't belive she is three months old.
