Sage goes to Kindergarten

It is such a weird feeling when your first child goes off to Kindergarten. I was starting to get butterflies in my stomach (or maybe it was just the baby kicking) as the hour drew nearer. Sage was also getting more nervous. All week she had been so excited and asked me everyday how many more days until she got to go to school. I think she was jealous that Hallie was starting before her. Friday morning she woke up excited but a little apprehensive and started asking me "What if...?" questions the rest of the morning.
She got dressed for school and would not be convinced to wear anything other than her new elementary school T-shirt. Good thing I never got around to buying her a new first-day-of-school outfit.
By the time we got down to the bus stop all her fears seemed to melt away. We have such a cute group of kids in our neighborhood all going to kindergarten this year. I think there are 8 of them who are all riding the bus and in her class with her. They all looked so darling lined up waiting for the bus to come and when it did Sage grabbed the hand of the girl next to her and they all crowded toward the bus. Jason, Hallie, and I watched and waved as they took off for the school. We followed her down to the school and walked her into her classroom. By the time she got to her classroom she had completely forgotten that we were even there.
It is hard to send your kids off to school for the first time and I did get a little teary eyed but she was so excited and ready for it that it made it so much easier for her parents.

Hallie's First Day of School

Hallie started her first year of preschool at Mrs. Cook's on September 4th. She was so cute walking into her class with her little pink elephant back pack on. I can't believe that she is in preschool she seems so little and unprepared. Her first day went really well and she was excited about the snacks, recess, singing and stories that went on during her first day.

Baby says"HI"

For those of you who haven't heard yet, we are being blessed with another darling little girl. We are all very excited, even though when the ultrasound lady told us it was a girl Jason said, "Are you kidding me? Are you sure?" I think we had both convinced ourselves that we were going to be having a boy. The girls are so happy to have a little sister and we are already trying to narrow down a name.
Here is a picture of Baby girl giving her first wave. We didn't get too many great photos since the baby wouldn't hold still for even one second. I would post the rest of the ultrasound pictures but no one can ever tell what they are supposed to be of anyway.

Yearly Zoo Trip

On Monday we went on our annual trip the the zoo. This only happens ONCE a year in our household so the kids were really looking forward to it. I was planning on taking the kids down there by myself but at the last minute our friends the Chappells, Jensens and Bergs decided to come with us. The kids had a great time with their friends looking at all the animals. At first after every animal that we saw Hallie would start crying and saying "I want to see more animals." I assured her that we would see plenty of animals and not to worry. It was a hot day and by the end of our time there all the kids were having little breakdowns, which reminded me of why I only go to the zoo once a year.

Here is Sage outside the Elephant exhibit.

Here are the kids on the little train. They thought it was great although it went a lot faster this year than it has in the past.

Hallie's Third Birthday

I'm behind on my blog posting again! Hallie turned three almost a month ago and today was the first time that I even looked at the pictures from that fun day.
It was a great weekend. My parents were in town for a visit so it made the day quite festive. In the morning I woke up and went into Hallie's room to see her and my Mom on the bed reading stories. Hallie looked up at me and yelled "Mom, It's my birthday!" We made her a big breakfast of eggs and beignets then we spent the morning playing and reading books. My Mom bought Hallie a little crown to wear for the big day and she was proud to tell everyone that she was a queen for the day.
We went to church and Hallie had to wear the crown the entire time. Hallie took some sugar cookies to Nursery to share with her friends.
After church we came home and had a nice dinner and opened presents.

She tore through them pretty fast and came away with some nice stuff; a bike, some DS games, a Memory game, some plastic necklace beads, among other things.
After dinner my Mom put on some music and danced in the living room with the girls for a while.
My Mom left to go down to Grandma's house around 7:00 and the kids and I packed up the birthday cake and candles and headed down to the park.

Jason met us down at the park along with our friends the Ritchies and Chappells. We had a fun little party down there. Hallie and all the kids played in the sand and had a great time. Hallie had a great birthday. Thanks to all who made it so fun.

Here is one picture of Sage for good measure.

Preschool Graduation

Sage finished preschool about a week ago and to wrap up the really fun year they had a great graduation ceremony. The program was really cute with all the kids singing songs such as "You're a Grand Old Flag" and some nursery rhymes. Sage looked so darling in her red cap and gown.
It was such a great school year and Sage enjoyed her teacher and school friends so much. I'm a little worried about how I am going to keep her busy this summer.
